Après avoir exploré le monde de l’architecture d’intérieur et du design d’édition, Hugo Danneels et Julie Figueroa Zafiro  fondent en 2021 leur atelier d'artisanat d'art et studio de création spécialisé dans l’ébénisterie et le tournage.

La rencontre du bois et du feu est leur premier émoi d’artisan, écailles, craquelures, charbon, noir profond, la transformation extrême de la matière par le feu et la volonté de figer cette métamorphose est un continuel terrain de jeu et d’émerveillement.

Pour la fabrication des collections Quema et Familia, la maîtrise du cycle de fabrication des objets est essentielle, c'est ainsi que chaque nouvelle collection commence au cœur d'une ressource naturelle : Les matières employées sont minutieusement sélectionnées et récoltées par leurs mains dans le respect du lieu où elles sont prélevées.

Une importance particulière est donnée à récupérer uniquement les ressources nécessaires, la sobriété est un mot qui les accompagne à chaque étape de la fabrication des objets.

After exploring the world of interior architecture and design, Hugo Danneels and Julie Figueroa Zafiro founded their craft workshop and creative studio in 2021, specializing in furniture-making and turnery.

The meeting of wood and fire is their first artisan thrill—scales, cracks, charcoal, deep black—the extreme transformation of the material by fire and the desire to freeze this metamorphosis is a constant playground of wonder and fascination.

For the creation of the Quema and Familia collections, mastery of the object-making process is essential. Thus, each new collection begins at the heart of a natural resource: the materials used are meticulously selected and harvested by their hands, respecting the place from which they are taken.

Special attention is given to retrieving only the necessary resources, and sobriety is a word that accompanies them at every stage of the object-making process.
